SAFE SCHOOLS PROFESSIONALS

Safe School Professionals are crucial in coordinating treatment and supporting the implementation of mental health systems within the school environment. This individual, who also serves as a Social Worker, is dedicated to enhancing academic outcomes by addressing various educational barriers from the child, school, home, or community. They provide various mental and behavioral health services, including assessments, referrals, educational resources, family engagement initiatives, student support groups, and programs to foster a positive school climate.

Safe School Professionals work closely with school counselors and staff to ensure coordination and wrap-around services for students and families.

  • Work with school-based leadership to strengthen and support the implementation of MTSS.

  • Provide behavioral and mental health services

  • Provide assessments

  • Provide referrals to partner agencies

  • Family engagement through referrals, school, and community events

  • Support groups for students

  • Participation in partner meetings

  • Involvement in school-based MTSS, PBIS teams, and MDT
