Dayton Golf Tournament Benefits Local Food Pantries

Dayton Valley Golf Club and Healthy Communities Coalition (HCC) are joining together to hold the third annual Fall Harvest Classic Golf Tournament, “Drive Out Hunger” on Saturday, September 24, 2022. All proceeds benefit HCC’s food pantries. You can participate by being in the golf tournament, sponsoring a 4 person team, and/ or donating raffle items.

The pandemic and the recent increase in gas and food prices have had a profound impact on our community food pantries. For the 2020-2021 program year, HCC food pantries across Lyon County served almost 10,000 individuals and distributed well over two million pounds of food, at an estimated value of over $4 million.

  • Over half of our clients were determined to be children and seniors.
  • Need within the community increased 80% from last year.
  • The pantry backpack program supplied an average 400 meals per month to Lyon County Schools.
