With Thanksgiving just over a week away, Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties is asking for help from the community.

Donations of Thanksgiving meal trimmings such as boxed stuffing, gravy mix, and canned cranberry sauce are needed at the Coalition’s food pantries in Dayton and Silver Springs.

Donations can be dropped off at the Dayton Food Pantry at 209 Dayton Valley Road, Monday-Friday between 10am and 4pm, and at the Silver Stage Food Pantry at 1775 US Hwy 50 East in Silver Springs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 10am and 4pm.

Healthy Communities’ director Wendy Madson said, “We know we can count on the generosity of our community to help us fulfill our mission of serving those in need. Thank you.”
