Dayton, Nevada – Dayton author Lisa Laterza Selmi will lead storytime at the Silver City Volunteer Library on Tuesday, July 20, reading from her new children’s book. Storytime begins at 10am. The library is located within the Silver City Schoolhouse (community center) at 385 High Street, Silver City, Nevada 89428.
Selmi’s fun and educational new children’s book Oscar’s Big Adventure is an endearing story of an aging dog who reminds us that we are never too old to seek new friendships and adventures.
Selmi explains that “Oscar is a friendly dog who has spent fourteen years as part of the Taylor family. He was there when the Taylor boys were young, playing ball and running around the yard together. As he got older so did the boys, and one by one they moved away.
Now Oscar spends his days lying on his rug by the fireplace remembering his younger days when there were kids to play with and adventures galore.
One morning Oscar wakes up and the door is open and he has the chance to do it all again! When no one is looking, Oscar goes out the front door into a whole new sunshine-filled world!
Follow Oscar on his big adventure as he makes new friends with frogs and fish and friendly neighbors.”
At the end of the day, Oscar discovers that there is a special comfort in the place called home.
Lisa Selmi’s book is a good way to start conversations with children about the responsibilities associated with owning a pet, as well as the importance of looking after a pet’s well-being.
Oscar’s Big Adventure can be found at bookstores everywhere or online at the Apple iBooks Store, Amazon, or Barnes and Noble.
