Fun for Preschoolers Tuesday July 13

Silver City, Nevada – United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra (UWNNS) will host a morning of fun and educational activities for preschoolers and their parents on Tuesday, July 13 from 10am to noon.

The free event, which includes hands-on crafts, science, and literacy activities, is for parents and their children ages 2 to 6 years old.

Participants will create their own “Reading Buddy” inspired by Toy Story’s Forky character.

Those attending can try the “Rainbow Walking Water Experiment”, a colorful science experiment that kids love.

Every child will be able to pick out two new books to take home and keep!

UWNNS supports parents with various resources as they nurture their children’s development, early literacy, health, nutrition and play. One of United Way’s goals is to double the number of children in northern Nevada who read proficiently by the end of third grade. With that goal in mind, UWNNS focuses on early childhood development and learning, kindergarten readiness, early grade success and strengthening families.
