May is Mental Health Matters Month

May is Mental Health Matters Month and Healthy Communities Coalition is joining many others in “going green”, the national color of mental health awareness. In addition to making our main offices glow green for the month of May, our May and June meetings will feature Michelle Trujillo speaking about igniting hope in the midst of adversity. In addition, you can call our Resource Hotline for referrals to local resources such as mental health, medical and dental services; alcohol, tobacco, opioid and other drug use treatment and prevention; volunteer opportunities; food, clothing and more. Details about going green, the May/June workshops on hope, and our Resource Line can be found below:

Healthy Communities’ main offices have gone green for the month of May to recognize Mental Health Matters.

May is a month dedicated to raising awareness about mental health issues, promoting good mental health practices, and encouraging people to support others around them. In solidarity, people are wearing green, displaying green at their homes and businesses, changing reader boards to green, promoting self-care activities and sharing information about available mental health resources. Save the dates for Michelle Trujillo’s inspiring workshop on igniting hope in the midst of adversity. Just in time for May “Mental Health Matters” month, she’ll offer the workshop free through Healthy Communities Coalition’s May 13 and June 10 meetings via Zoom. She’ll offer the first 1/2 of the workshop in May and the second 1/2 in June.
