Classes for Home Gardeners Who Want to Sell Their Bounty at Farmers Markets

A free, three-part course will be offered online beginning March 24, 2021. The Home Grown, Market Fresh Course is designed to provide the enthusiastic home gardener with everything they need to know to scale up their production and sell at their local farmers market.

Those attending will gain step-by-step guidance about food safety for the market gardener. They’ll find out how to apply for a Producer’s Certificate, how to market their garden harvest and more.

Teachers include Justin McIntosh of Healthy Communities Coalition’s Dayton Farmers Market; Jill Moe of Desert Farming Initiative; Rob and Lonnie Holley of Holley Family Farms; Breanna Coons of Carson City Farmers Market; Randy Robinson and Todd Jones.

Producer’s Certificates will be paid for those who complete all three parts of the course and participate in four or more Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties or Fallon Food Hub farmers’ markets this summer.
