Healthy Communities Coalition has a new initative to host representatives from different veterans resource groups once a month at each of our volunteer-powered food pantries in Lyon County. TMCC Veterans Upward Bound shared information at the Yerington Food Pantry on September 18th. They will be onhand at the Dayton Food Pantry to share information on Wednesday September 25 from noon to 4pm. They will also be at the Silver Stage Food Pantry to share information on Wednesday October 2 from 1pm-4pm.

Veterans Upward Bound assists veterans in the development of academic and other skills for success in postsecondary education such as college. The program provides assessment and enhancement of basic skills through counseling, mentoring, tutoring and academic instruction in core subject areas.
