Dayton, Nevada- Healthy Communities Coalition’s healthy eating, fitness and weight loss/ maintenance support group, the Dayton Wellness Warriors, has been meeting every Wednesday evening since 2014.
The lovely spring weather has the group outdoors and moving. This week they’re taking advantage of the spring weather with an outdoor gardening class, followed by a group hike.
Brandon Allard and Preston Shahan from Americorps will offer a “Grow Your Own” food workshop, teaching how to grow healthier more flavorful foods in Northern Nevada. Their free workshop will start at HCC’s Community Roots Nursery at 5:30 pm on Wednesday April 5 and anyone is welcome to attend (HWY 50 and 2nd Avenue next to Pizza Factory).
Then at 6 pm, the group will hike uphill to the local cemetery for a little exercise. Lisa Selmi, faciliator for the group, writes, ” I hope that you will consider joining us at the workshop or on our walk afterwards!”
