It’s helpful if you have had experience working with youth ages of 12-17.
Contact: Please contact Tammy Sutton at Healthy Communities at tsutton@lyoncsd.org for applications.
Who Can Apply and Is There Transportation? Applications from youth ages 12-17 from Lyon, Storey, and Douglas areas will be accepted until May 20th. Please contact Tammy Sutton for registration packets. Transportation will be provided by bus from Silver Springs, Fernley, Dayton and Yerington. MORE DETAILS BELOW PHOTO:
What Will Happen at the Camp: The theme for the “Leadership Out Loud” (LOL) camp is “Heroes Vs. Villians.” Through games and group activities, participants will learn additional skills in public speaking, team work, clear communication, leadership skills, and evidence-based strategies for peer to peer education that helps prevent use of tobacco, alcohol, prescription and other drugs.
Fun: In addition to learning valuable skills to take back to their communities, camp attendees will also have time for supervised activities at the camp’s private beach, volleyball and basketball courts, and will choose from evening activities like campfire time, glow in the dark games, arts and music, etc.
