Dayton, Nevada – All are welcome at a free class to learn how to prepare Moroccan Chicken Tagine on Monday.

HCC sponsors monthly cooking classes
The nonprofit Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties sponsors monthly FREE cooking classes with dietitian Kim Mason, and farmer and Healthy Communities’ community health advocate Rebekah Stetson.
The next class is on Monday, December 21st at 5:30 pm at the Dayton Community Center at 170 Pike Street. No reservations or special skills are required to attend.
The cooking classes, one of many “spokes” in a regional healthy food hub, normally take place on the third Monday of each month.
Healthy Communities promotes a number of initiatives and programs such as Community Harvest Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, school and community gardens, Jackrabbit Junction Buyers’ Club, farmers markets, and gardening education through a “Healthy Food Hub”, an effort to increase access to and demand for affordable, locally and sustainably grown food.
