Healthy Communities Coalition sponsors FREE cooking demos for the community once a month, with recipes based on the varying schedule for USDA commodity foods ingredients.

Instructors are Rebekah Stetson, farmer and Community Health Advocate with Healthy Communities , and dietitian Kim Mason. Guest instructor this month is Lulu Santiano.

During past cooking classes, participants learned to prepare Alaska Salmon Albondiga, chicken pot pie, lima bean soup, salmon patties, broccoli kale bacon slaw, pumpkin corn muffins, pork and beans, lamb, and a high-nutrient grain called quinoa.
