Silver Stage Co-op?s December News

Silver Springs, Nevada ? Silver Stage Co-op Chair Linda Hoyen writes, ?the store is decorated for the holidays and looks great! We have locally-made Cranberry-Orange Bread in the freezer, and plenty of decorated jellies of different flavors. We have produce growing in the hoop house, and we will be planting another 1/4 of the hoophouse this week, with Co-op member Pat taking the lead. Stop by and check out the hoophouse, and buy some bread and jellies for holiday gift baskets!?

The Co-op has a store front and a buying club, and the members are also enthusiastic supporters of the community Angel Tree, toy drive, and Santa visits to the Co-op and the Silver Stage Food Pantry, and to Buckland Station. Below you?ll find contact information, website addresses and store hours, and a list of some of many good things the Co-op members are busy with during December:

December 2014 Events and Projects:

Tues. Dec. 2 at 11:00 ? Decorating the community Angel Tree: Please feel free to come by and help! Store is open. Donations for the Angel Tree are being sought through the week of December 15th. Gifts will be distributed to hundreds of children on December 22nd.

Wed. Dec. 3 at 11:00 ? Planting another 1/4 of the community hoop house with winter greens: Help is welcomed! The hoop house is located behind the Pantry & Co-op. Store is open.

Thurs. Dec 4 at 10:00 Each week, Co-op members deliver weekend food backpacks to to local schools for children whose families may have fallen on hard times. The Silver Stage Pantry provides the food. Store is open.

Sat. Dec. 13 at 10:30 am Co -op Meeting

12:00 noon Buyers Club ? This is an opportunity to order fresh fruit and veggies from our sister Co -op, Great Basin Community Food Co -op. The Co-op has access to all of their Nevada vendors, and orders in bulk so that it is cheaper for all of us. The more we order, the lower the cost. Order on Saturday and a volunteer picks up the order on Tuesday, to be picked up by you on Wed, simple as as that. We accept cash, credit, debit & SNAP

December 20th from 10am -2pm, Santa will visit historic Buckland Station. The Co-op is contributing milk and cookies for this event hosted by Buckland Station and Nevada State Parks. Buckland Station has a Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Buckland-Station/186742494841351

Hot Chocolate and Photos with Santa: Santa will visit the Co-op and adjacent Pantry on December 23rd at 4pm. Stop by for a cup of hot chocolate, and pictures with Santa.

HOURS: The Co-Op is open On Tues., Wed., Thurs., and every other Sat. However, Dec. 13th will be the only Saturday the Co-Op will be open in December. (On Dec. 20th, Co-op members will be at Buckland Station with Santa ? see below).

Holiday HOURS: The Co-op will be closed from Dec.24th through Jan.5th. If you want the Co-op to be open other days and hours, help from volunteers is most welcome.
